I went by Cabela's yesterday to pick up a few items - paracord, .40 ammo (on sale) and some snappers. While I was there I asked if the had any Hi-Point TS995 carbines in stock. The guy looked around out front and couldn't find any, so he checked in the back. He said they had them all locked up because they were in the sale ad starting today. Good information to have...
This morning me and my buddy went to a military gun show, lots of neat stuff to look at, but absolutely no bargains to be had.
We stopped by Cabela's on the way back home and I couldn't resist the temptation anymore. If you have been following along for a while, you will know I have wanted the Hi-Point carbine for a while. I called a couple of gun stores before I made the purchase and the best price I could get was $249 plus another $20 for the forward grip.
Cabela's had it WITH the forward grip for $224.99. Not a bad price!
While I was there, I noticed Cabela's also had some .380 ammo in the ad. $15 bucks for a box of 50. I had to pick up a couple of boxes. I still haven't fired the Hi-Point .380, so now I can give it a test run. I know it is Russian, I know it has a steel case, I know it has berdan primers, but it is the first reasonably priced .380 ammo I have seen in two years. I'll just clean the hell out of the pistol after shooting.
If the rain stops, I'm hoping to take the whole family to the range tomorrow. We will try out the new carbine for sure. I will have to try out the borrowed scope on the Plinkster, fire a few rounds through the .380 and shoot the hell out of the .40 and 9mm.
I'll try to get some pictures of the TS995 in action and tell you how awesome it is.
I really should have stocked up on the 9mm ammo...
