I've been trying to get my wife to the range for a while, but other commitments and clashing schedules just wouldn't let it happen. Today the stars aligned and we were able to go as a family. Me, the wife and both daughters. We had a blast! My wife has never actually shot a weapon before, so she was a little intimidated at first.
We started out with the Hi-Point C9. It took her a magazine or two to get used to the trigger pull, but once she got it figured out she did great. We moved to the S&W M&P .40 after that. She started out great and just got better from there.
After that, we moved over to a 25 yard range and she shot the Mossberg Plinkster 702. She really enjoyed it, it is easy to shoot and deadly accurate. She saw how much fun I was having with the Hi-Point TS995 Carbine and wanted to give it a try.
She did a damn fine job with this too. I was impressed with how she picked up on all the different weapons. Sometimes going from pistol to rifle can be a little confusing for a new shooter. She seemed to adapt to it very well.
We then moved to a 100 yard range and she got to shoot my buddy's AR-15. We were trying out his new red dot scope. She picked it up with ease and was able to get some very nice shots from 100 yards.
We all had an excellent time. The weather was not great, but because of that we had the range almost all to ourselves. A good time was had by all. Any day shooting is a great day.
